See Japan's castles the easy way
Screencast #2 – Map basics

Following the dizzying success of Screencast #1 – Castle profiles, here is the next instalment. The subject is of course the Interactive map and while aimed at a first-time user, I feel certain that even a veteran might learn a thing or two.
This is the first time I’ve posted a Youtube video. I can’t say the quality of the final product is any different, but uploading, converting & sharing is much easier & faster. If you do have a profile on Youtube, look for me here: Kyushudan
*** I forgot to mention, you can use the mouse’s scroll-wheel to zoom in and out.

I was asked the other day if I’d be willing to have this site featured on an episode of Bridges, a weekly show that showcases a single content creator in Japan and their content. Of course the answer was an automatic, Yes, please!
I was absolutely chuffed because Bridges (and the associated Bad Communication podcast) are made by people clearly concerned with putting out some pretty polished content themselves.
Do yourself a favour, and click on one (or both) of the above links. And here’s another – Hiroki Matsuuchi (Twitter). And another – The Ep on the Bridges site.
Screencast #1 – Castle profiles

A screencast is something I’ve been wanting to do for quite a while. Sure, I get in front of the camera every now and then, but it’s not so often that I can get myself to a castle. What I’m hoping to achieve in these series of short and (hopefully) focused videos, is to highlight some of the lesser known features of the website that is The Japanese Castle Explorer.
A big thanks to the tweeps on Twitter for helping out with some of the technical aspects of the following video.
