Autumn in Usuki

This isn’t the type of thing I usually post. It's probably a good thing that I am, variety being the spice of life and all. I was just going through my photos of Usuki castle from a year or two back and they really jumped out at me. I'm not suggesting they're worthy to be on the front cover of National Geographic but just thought they may be of some interest to you, the valued reader.

Autumn is on the way and is a great time to travel in Japan. I'm thinking of travelling to Ehime Prefecture. How about you?

I’ve never been to Shikoku, though I’ve heard wonderful things. Matsuyama is high on my list of places to go.

As for my travels this autumn, I just got back from a short trip to New York, and I’m planning on seeing NY again, Boston, and San Fran this winter, but no Japan anytime soon.

Shikoku is great. And not just Ehime (you had the option of going there, right?) I first visited Ehime in Nov 2001; jaw-droppingly beautiful with Autumn leaves. I’d love to see that again.

    Enjoy the US tour.

Nice pictures. The leaves and weather and everything tend to make castle pictures look better in autumn too I think. I’d love to go back to Ehime one of these days too. No autumn plans for me yet. I might go with my wife to Okinawa for a weekend but there might not be time for anything more than Shuri Castle.

Yes, it would be a shame to go to Okinawa and not see more of what the place has to offer.

    No matter the plans, enjoy.
